Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Mr. Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, visited the Pakistan Navy Dockyard today to honor the Navy’s instrumental role in Operation Bunyanum Marsoos, underscoring its vital contribution to national security and maritime dominance.

The Prime Minister was warmly received by Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf, with Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir and Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmad Baber Sidhu also present, marking a rare tri-services convergence during the visit.

During his tour, the Prime Minister boarded the state-of-the-art Type-054A Class Destroyer PNS TAIMUR, where he received a comprehensive briefing from the Commander Pakistan Fleet on the Navy’s strategic operations, capabilities, and ongoing mission excellence.

Addressing naval officers and sailors, PM Shehbaz praised the Pakistan Navy’s combat readiness, professional excellence, and unwavering commitment to safeguarding Pakistan’s maritime frontiers. He affirmed the nation’s absolute trust in the Armed Forces and expressed admiration for the Navy’s steadfast defence of sea lines of communication, which are vital for Pakistan’s economic lifeline.

Highlighting the Navy’s role as a formidable shield against regional threats, the Prime Minister applauded its deterrent posture, layered maritime defence strategy, and ability to respond decisively to any provocation. He drew parallels with the Navy’s historic Operation Dwarka, asserting that the force remains fully capable of conducting high-intensity maritime operations whenever required.

He was accompanied by key cabinet members, including Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal, Information Minister Attaulah Tarar, and Education Minister Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui.
