Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has departed for Türkiye on the first leg of a four-nation diplomatic tour aimed at expressing gratitude for support extended to Pakistan during recent tensions with India.
Accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, and Special Assistant Tariq Fatemi, the Prime Minister will visit Türkiye, Iran, Azerbaijan, and Tajikistan from May 25 to 30.
According to official sources, the tour will include high-level meetings with the leadership of these countries, focusing on bilateral relations as well as regional and global developments of mutual concern.
A key component of the visit is to personally thank Pakistan’s allies for their diplomatic and moral support during the recent standoff with India.
In the final leg of his trip, Prime Minister Shehbaz will participate in an International Conference on Glaciers in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, on May 29–30, where climate resilience and environmental cooperation will be key agenda items.
