PM Shehbaz Declares Victory Over Indian Aggression, Vows to Defeat Terrorism in Address to Balochistan Grand Jirga

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, addressing the Balochistan Grand Jirga in Quetta, termed Pakistan’s successful military response to Indian aggression on May 6 and 7 as a defining moment in the nation’s history. Commending the Armed Forces for their exemplary professionalism and courage under the leadership of Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, he described the operation as a strategic triumph that restored national dignity and sent a clear message to the enemy.

“The enemy faced a defeat so decisive it will remain etched in their memory for generations,” the Prime Minister remarked, adding that the bravery displayed by the Armed Forces had unified the entire nation in pride and resolve.

He expressed deep appreciation to the people of Balochistan and other provinces for standing firmly behind the Armed Forces. “The spirit of national unity  from Gwadar to Gilgit  was the true strength behind our success,” he said.

Recounting his personal involvement during the brief but high-stakes conflict, PM Shehbaz stated, “As Prime Minister, I was an eyewitness to every development. Under the bold and methodical leadership of Field Marshal Asim Munir, our Armed Forces not only secured the homeland but restored our national pride by avenging the events of 1971.”

Referring to Pakistan’s nuclear doctrine, the Prime Minister added, “When India conducted five nuclear tests, Pakistan responded with six a demonstration of resolve under the leadership of Nawaz Sharif that reshaped the strategic balance. It was a moment that reaffirmed our sovereignty and strength.”

Touching upon the historical role of Balochistan, he recalled the principled decision of the province’s elders to join Pakistan under the leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. “Balochistan is the pride of Pakistan — its people are among the most courageous and honourable. If there are grievances, they must be addressed through sincere dialogue and mutual respect,” he said.

Condemning terrorism in all its forms, Prime Minister Shehbaz warned against foreign-backed elements seeking to destabilise Pakistan. “These terrorists are enemies of peace, acting on behalf of hostile powers. They are threatened by Pakistan’s progress and unity — but their designs will be decisively defeated,” he asserted. “Together, we will identify and overcome all shortcomings. Your voice, your advice, and your resilience are vital to our collective strength.”

The address concluded with a strong reaffirmation of the government’s commitment to national unity, inclusive development, and an unrelenting fight against terrorism. The jirga participants welcomed the Prime Minister’s remarks with unanimous support.
