Pakistani security forces thwarted a major terrorist plot in Balochistan’s Basima area, successfully neutralising two operatives of Fitna-al-Hindustan during an intelligence-based operation, thereby averting a planned attack targeting civilians and a key national highway.
According to credible sources, intelligence agencies had received confirmed reports regarding the presence of operatives linked to a network backed by hostile elements operating from across the borders of India and Afghanistan. The assailants were reportedly planning to block the RCD Highway (N-25) near Dasht-e-Goran, close to Basima, and target innocent civilians in an attempt to destabilise the region.
Acting swiftly on the intelligence, the Quick Reaction Force (QRF) launched a prompt and coordinated operation, encircling the suspects before they could execute their plan. A heavy exchange of fire ensued, resulting in the elimination of both Fitna-al-Hindustan operatives at the scene.
Security officials described the operation as a significant success in preempting a high-impact terrorist plot aimed at disrupting public life and undermining security in Balochistan. The timely action not only prevented potential civilian casualties but also ensured the continued functioning of a critical transport route.
Defence analysts noted that such attempts reflect a persistent pattern of subversive activities allegedly orchestrated by hostile intelligence agencies, particularly India’s Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), in collaboration with elements operating from safe havens in Afghanistan. These groups, they said, remain actively engaged in efforts to destabilise Balochistan through sabotage and targeted violence.
Analysts further emphasised that attempts to block strategic routes such as the RCD Highway are part of broader designs to disrupt the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), widely regarded as Pakistan’s economic lifeline. The foiled attack underscores ongoing efforts to target infrastructure and economic initiatives vital to the country’s development.
Security forces reaffirmed their resolve to continue intelligence-driven operations across the region, vowing to eliminate all threats and safeguard national stability at all costs.
