The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) has released a detailed report on the investigation into the suicide attack on a police mobile vehicle in Chamkani area, which occurred on May 11, 2024. The attack resulted in the death of two police officers.

According to the CTD, the suicide bomber has been identified as a foreign national named Imran Guliyev, who entered Pakistan on April 28, 2024, through Islamabad. The report confirmed there is no record of his departure from the country.

The primary target of the attack was reportedly a rally led by a prominent religious leader. Investigations revealed a sophisticated support network that assisted the bomber from Karak to Peshawar and Quetta.

Facilitators provided the bomber with accommodation, fake identity cards, financial support, and funds transferred via cryptocurrency. A key figure involved in supplying fake IDs was arrested in Kohat.

Financial transactions revealed millions of rupees were transferred to terrorists using Easypaisa and hawala channels. Additionally, a cryptocurrency transaction worth $202 USD was traced on the Tron blockchain. Funds were linked to exchanges including Binance and Bybit.

The CTD has confirmed that the Chamkani attack was part of a larger plan orchestrated by an international terror network.

Security agencies continue their efforts to dismantle the terror infrastructure behind the attack and bring all involved to justice.
