The Peshawar police have announced a sweeping crackdown against criminal elements, including street offenders, land grabbers, drug peddlers, illegal arms holders, and those involved in brandishing weapons.

Speaking to journalists at an event held at Peshawar Police Lines, Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Dr. Mian Saeed Ahmad said the police are not only taking action against criminals active in neighbourhoods but are also keeping a close watch on factors corrupting the youth.

He emphasised that vulgar and unethical content spreading through TikTok and other social media platforms would not be tolerated, and effective measures are being taken to shield the younger generation from such negative influences.

The CCPO further noted that the police investigation system is being modernised to ensure that every case is probed transparently, swiftly, and effectively, leaving no room for offenders to escape justice. Advanced technology, forensic tools, and trained personnel are being deployed to achieve this goal.

Dr. Mian Saeed Ahmad also stressed that there is no place for “black sheep” within the police force. Any officer or official found involved in misconduct or injustice towards citizens will face strict action. He reiterated that making the police transparent, public-friendly, and professional remains his top priority.

Highlighting the importance of cooperation, the CCPO said that police and media share a deep bond. The media has always played a vital role in exposing crime and raising public awareness, and moving forward, a joint campaign against crime and social evils will be pursued.

He concluded by stating that the police are committed to using all resources and energy to make Peshawar a cradle of peace, ensuring the protection of citizens’ lives, property, and dignity at all costs.
