Security forces have successfully eliminated all 30 Khawarij involved in the deadly attack in Orakzai, which claimed the lives of Lieutenant Colonel Junaid Tariq, Major Tayyab Rahat, and nine brave soldiers, officials confirmed on Thursday.
According to security sources, the operation marks the complete neutralization of the network responsible for the October 7–8 Orakzai attack, where the Khawarij backed and funded by India targeted Pakistani troops. The successful operation reaffirms the military’s unwavering resolve to eradicate terrorism and restore peace across the country.
Earlier, security forces had conducted an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Orakzai, killing 19 India-sponsored Khawarij affiliated with the so-called Fitna-e-Khawarij movement. The operation led to an intense exchange of fire, during which several Pakistani soldiers, including two officers, embraced martyrdom while displaying extraordinary courage. The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) had earlier confirmed that the fallen soldiers fought valiantly and led their men from the front against heavily armed Khawarij during the Orakzai operation.
Security sources reaffirmed that Pakistan’s forces remain steadfast in their mission to eliminate every last Indian-backed Khawarij network operating within the country. “The blood of our martyrs will not go in vain. The elimination of all perpetrators is a message to those who challenge Pakistan’s sovereignty — there will be no safe haven for the enemies of peace,” a senior security official said.
The operation underscores Pakistan’s continued determination and operational superiority in confronting cross-border terrorism, ensuring that the sacrifices of its martyrs strengthen the resolve of the nation.
