Pakistan Warns of Strategic Depth Response in Case of Indian Aggression: DG ISPR

Director General of the Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR), Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, has issued a strong warning in response to India’s escalatory rhetoric and threats of military action, stating unequivocally that “this time, Pakistan will begin from the East in India, and India must understand that it too can be struck anywhere.”

In an interview with The Economist, the DG ISPR responded to a question regarding Pakistan’s potential reaction to any Indian military incursion. He delivered a categorical message: “We will begin from the East this time.” He further cautioned New Delhi that “India must realize it is vulnerable everywhere.”

This statement comes amid reports that the Indian government, reeling from domestic political pressure following the failure of Operation Sandor and facing mounting criticism from opposition parties, has resumed its provocative posture under the guise of Operation Sandor 2  a renewed campaign aimed at maligning Pakistan with fabricated terror plots and baseless accusations.

General Chaudhry’s remarks serve as a direct and unambiguous deterrent, signaling that any act of Indian aggression would be met with a decisive and comprehensive response from Pakistan, extending beyond traditional border engagements.

India’s eastern economic corridor encompassing key cities like Kolkata, Jamshedpur, Ranchi, Bokaro, Rourkela, Bhubaneswar, and Patna houses some of the country’s most vital industrial, commercial, energy, port, and technology infrastructures. These regions are integral to India’s economic strength and host multi-billion-dollar enterprises owned by Prime Minister Modi’s favored tycoons, including Gautam Adani and Mukesh Ambani. High-value data centers and manufacturing hubs in these areas represent critical economic nodes.

In the event of war, any Pakistani targeting of these strategic economic centers would not be limited to tactical border engagements but would constitute deep-strike retaliation  a move that could inflict devastating military, economic, and strategic consequences on India, potentially crippling its war-waging capacity.

Pakistan has consistently maintained a principled stance as a peace-loving nation and a stabilizing force in the region. However, the DG ISPR reiterated that Pakistan’s desire for peace should never be mistaken for weakness. Any aggression by the adversary will be met with a response far more painful and far-reaching than anticipated  one whose consequences will resonate beyond the battlefield.
