As tensions escalate following India’s unprovoked and cowardly assault on civilian areas, Pakistan’s National Cyber Emergency Response Team (NCERT) has issued an urgent advisory, warning of a parallel wave of cyberattacks and disinformation campaigns orchestrated by hostile Indian elements.
According to media reports, the advisory highlights that Indian-backed actors are exploiting the volatile situation to conduct sophisticated cyber offensives targeting Pakistan’s key digital infrastructure. These operations include phishing schemes, deceptive messaging, and the deliberate spread of falsehoods aimed at destabilizing the country and inciting public confusion.
The NCERT alert underscores that these cyber hostilities form part of a broader hybrid warfare strategy being waged by India, seeking to undermine Pakistan’s internal cohesion through both digital and military provocations.
Citizens have been strictly advised to refrain from sharing unverified reports regarding cyber incidents or defense matters on social media. The advisory urges the public to avoid clicking suspicious links or interacting with unverified messages, emails, or viral content, warning that such activity may be part of an Indian disinformation agenda.
Emphasizing the need for digital vigilance, the NCERT called on the public to rely solely on official government sources for updates and to reject the flood of fake news being propagated through Indian-sponsored networks on platforms such as WhatsApp and Twitter.
The advisory comes in the immediate aftermath of India’s brazen aggression late night, when Indian forces launched a surprise attack on Pakistani civilian areas under the cover of darkness—a clear violation of international law and an act widely condemned as reckless and desperate.
