Federal Minister for Information, Atta Tarar, has made a serious allegation against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), asserting that the political party acts as a de facto political wing of the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). According to Minister Tarar, this affiliation has shielded PTI from attacks by TTP, as the group reportedly receives political facilitation from the party.
Speaking to the media, Minister Tarar stated:
“Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf functions as a political front for the TTP. Because of their facilitation, TTP does not target them.”
This allegation comes amid growing concerns over links between political actors and militant organizations in the country. Minister Tarar’s statement reinforces earlier remarks made by Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, spokesperson for the Pakistan Armed Forces, who noted the existence of a strong nexus between PTI and TTP, describing it as a collaboration that strengthens militant influence in Pakistan.
