The Pakistan Army and Tajikistan Special Forces successfully concluded the Pakistan–Tajikistan Joint Counter-Terrorism Exercise Dosti-II at Fakhrobod Base, Tajikistan, on Saturday. The week-long exercise, held from August 4 to 9, brought together elite combat teams from both countries to enhance operational coordination against terrorism.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the exercise featured two combat teams from the Pakistan Army’s Light Commando Battalion and four combat teams from Tajikistan Special Forces. The training aimed at refining joint drills, procedures, and techniques in counter-terrorism operations while strengthening historic military-to-military ties between the two friendly nations.
The closing ceremony, held on August 9, was attended by Pakistan’s Defence Attaché in Tajikistan, Colonel Muhammad Muazzam Zafar, as the chief guest, alongside senior Tajik military officials. Both sides lauded the high professional standards demonstrated by participating troops throughout the exercise.
ISPR noted that all training and military diplomacy objectives were successfully achieved, with Dosti-II serving as a significant step in fostering bilateral defence cooperation and mutual understanding in counter-terrorism strategy.
