Pakistan Strengthens Regional Leadership as Trilateral Dialogue Moves Forward in Kabul

In a significant diplomatic development, Pakistan’s Special Envoy to Afghanistan, Mohammad Sadiq Khan, and China’s Special Representative, Yue Xiaoyong, held a high-level meeting with the Acting Foreign Minister of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi, in Kabul.

According to Afghanistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the meeting focused on reviewing the outcomes of the 5th Trilateral Dialogue among the foreign ministers of Afghanistan, China, and Pakistan. The sides also discussed preparations for the upcoming 6th round of the dialogue, along with the next meeting of foreign ministers from neighboring countries.

Foreign Minister Muttaqi emphasized the importance of robust political and economic ties between Afghanistan, China, and Pakistan, expressing optimism about future progress in these areas.

Both China and Pakistan reiterated their commitment to deepening relations with Afghanistan based on mutual respect and the principles of good neighborliness.

A key outcome of the meeting was the decision to hold the 6th Trilateral Foreign Ministers’ Dialogue in Kabul, highlighting Afghanistan’s central role and Pakistan’s continued support for regional peace, stability, and cooperation.

This development reinforces Pakistan’s pivotal role in fostering dialogue and cooperation across South and Central Asia, positioning Islamabad as a key player in regional diplomacy.
