Pakistan has strongly rejected recent statements made by Indian leaders during a debate in the Lok Sabha regarding the so-called “Operation Sindoor“, calling the claims “baseless, provocative, and dangerous.”

Responding to media queries, the Spokesperson for Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that Indian assertions distort facts, glorify aggression, and serve political narratives without presenting verifiable evidence. The Spokesperson said India launched the operation following the May 6–7 Pahalgam attack, but failed to establish any credible link or investigation before striking what it claimed were terrorist targets inside Pakistan.

“India’s actions resulted in the martyrdom of innocent men, women, and children. Contrary to Indian claims, its military objectives were not achieved, while Pakistan successfully neutralized Indian fighter jets and military assets,” the statement said.

The Spokesperson questioned the timing of Indian statements, particularly the announcement of “Operation Mahadev,” and raised doubts over the credibility of India’s account. “Is it a coincidence that the alleged perpetrators were killed just as the Lok Sabha debate began?” the statement asked.

Pakistan also dismissed India’s references to creating a so-called “new normal” in bilateral ties, warning that any future aggression would be forcefully countered. “The only ‘normal’ is mutual respect for sovereignty and adherence to the UN Charter,” the spokesperson said.

On the issue of nuclear deterrence, Pakistan rejected what it called India’s “misleading narrative of nuclear blackmail” and reaffirmed its commitment to strategic discipline and conventional deterrence.

The statement also took strong exception to India’s handling of the Indus Waters Treaty, calling New Delhi’s decision to hold the agreement in abeyance a violation of international law and a blow to regional cooperation.

Concluding the remarks, the Spokesperson said that India’s “reliance on disinformation, jingoism, and chest-thumping” threatens regional stability. However, Pakistan remains committed to peace, dialogue, and resolution of all outstanding issues, including the core dispute of Jammu and Kashmir.
