Pakistan categorically rejected claims by the Afghan Taliban spokesperson alleging a violation of the temporary suspension of Operation Ghazab-Lil-Haq, terming the assertions “baseless, misleading and devoid of facts,” while reaffirming its commitment to the ceasefire announced on humanitarian and diplomatic grounds.
According to the Ministry of Information, Pakistan has not committed any breach of the ceasefire, and the allegations emanating from the Afghan side are “fabricated and rooted in falsehood.” The ministry stated that such claims appear to be part of a deliberate propaganda campaign aimed at justifying ongoing terrorist activities and cross-border aggression.
The statement further noted that the propagation of such narratives could also be linked to internal divisions within the Afghan Taliban regime, suggesting that competing factions may be attempting to shape perceptions through disinformation.
Reiterating Pakistan’s position, the Ministry of Information emphasized that the temporary halt in Operation Ghazab-ul-Haq does not indicate any weakening of resolve. It warned that any act of terrorism or cross-border attack would effectively nullify the pause, and Pakistan would respond with full force to safeguard its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The ministry recalled that the decision to temporarily suspend the operation was taken in respect of Eid-ul-Fitr and upon requests from brotherly Islamic countries. It underscored that the gesture was a reflection of Pakistan’s commitment to regional stability and respect for religious sensitivities.
Earlier, the Federal Minister for Information had stated that the suspension of operations was agreed upon following diplomatic engagements with Saudi Arabia, Türkiye and Qatar. He confirmed that the pause in military actions would remain in effect until midnight of March 24, 2026.
Pakistan maintained that while it remains committed to peace and restraint, it will not tolerate any threat to its national security, making it clear that any provocation would be met with a decisive and proportionate response.
