Pakistan, Kazakhstan Armies Conduct Joint Counter-Terrorism Exercise ‘Dostarym-V’ at Cherat: ISPR

The Pakistan-Kazakhstan Joint Military Exercise Dostarym-V is underway between the armies of the two brotherly countries in the counter-terrorism domain from 13–24 October 2025 at the Special Operations School, Cherat. The Special Services Group (SSG) of the Pakistan Army and the Special Forces of the Kazakhstan Army are participating in the exercise.

The opening ceremony of the exercise was held on 14 October 2025 at Cherat, where senior military officials from both countries were present. The exercise is designed to strengthen the professional capabilities of participating troops through joint training, focusing on modern combat techniques, counter-terrorism operations, and exchange of expertise.

Dostarym-V reflects the enduring bond of friendship and military cooperation between Pakistan and Kazakhstan. The joint drills aim to enhance interoperability, mutual understanding, and coordination in tackling the evolving challenges of terrorism and regional security.

The participating contingents will engage in various operational and tactical drills during the exercise, including close-quarter battle, hostage rescue, compound clearance, and intelligence-based operations. Both sides expressed their resolve to continue such collaborative engagements to promote regional peace and stability through shared training and experience.

The exercise underscores the deep-rooted defence partnership and growing military-to-military relations between Pakistan and Kazakhstan, built on mutual respect, trust, and a shared vision for regional security cooperation.
