Federal Minister for Interior, Mohsin Naqvi, emphasized Pakistan’s pivotal role in combating terrorism and protecting the global community, highlighting the nation’s continued commitment to countering extremist threats at home and abroad.
Minister Naqvi received expressions of solidarity from Italian Interior Minister Matteo Piantedosi and European Commissioner Magnus Berner, following the recent suicide bombing in Islamabad. Both officials condemned the attack in the strongest terms and conveyed their heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and the people of Pakistan.
Italian Interior Minister Piantedosi expressed deep sorrow over the tragic incident, stating, “We are profoundly saddened by the news of this terrible attack. On behalf of the Italian government and myself, I extend our heartfelt sympathy to the victims and their families. Italy stands with the people of Pakistan during this difficult time.” He reaffirmed Italy’s commitment to strongly oppose all forms of terrorism and expressed willingness to continue close cooperation with Pakistan in addressing the shared global threat of violent extremism.
European Commissioner Magnus Berner also conveyed condolences, stating, “Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families. We stand in solidarity with the people of Pakistan in this moment of grief and reaffirm our commitment to supporting efforts against terrorism.”
In response, Minister Naqvi expressed gratitude for the support and solidarity shown by both officials during this challenging period. He underscored Pakistan’s role as a shield against terrorism for the world, noting that combating extremism requires coordinated and robust international measures to ensure global security.
Minister Naqvi stated, “Pakistan remains at the forefront of the fight against terrorism. Today more than ever, the world needs unified and strong action to safeguard humanity from extremist threats.”
