In a significant development aimed at sustaining regional stability, Pakistan and India have reaffirmed their commitment to the ceasefire agreement and agreed to advance confidence-building measures to reduce tensions along the Line of Control (LoC).
According to international media reports, the Indian Army issued a formal statement confirming that both countries have decided to continue efforts to lower alert levels and foster mutual trust through sustained military-to-military engagement.
The announcement came after a recent hotline contact between the Directors General Military Operations (DGMOs) of Pakistan and India — the third such interaction since the reaffirmation of the ceasefire agreement. The two senior military officials reviewed the situation on the ground and discussed measures to maintain calm along the LoC.
Though neither side officially disclosed the details of the conversation, credible sources informed that the DGMOs agreed to uphold the ceasefire and maintain the “status quo,” as outlined during an earlier communication held on Monday.
The continued dialogue between the two nuclear-armed neighbours is being viewed as a constructive step toward de-escalation and long-term peace in the region.
