Pakistan Gains Clear Strategic Edge; Modi’s Assumptions Proven Wrong: Launch of “Historic Shift in South Asia” Report

The Pakistan-China Institute (PCI) has released a comprehensive report titled “Historic Shift in South Asia” within just 16 hours, highlighting Pakistan’s clear strategic ascendancy in the region and exposing the flaws in Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s calculations.

The report, launched by Senator Mushahid Hussain Sayed, outlines a three-pronged strategic roadmap and emphasizes that while full-scale war between Pakistan and India is now unlikely due to a restored balance of power, Pakistan has achieved clear military and diplomatic superiority following recent developments.

Describing May 10 as one of Pakistan’s most remarkable strategic moments, the report recommends proactive diplomacy, realignment of South Asian states along a strategic axis, and strengthened ties with key allies including China, Türkiye, Azerbaijan, Iran, and Saudi Arabia. It also calls for a creative legal approach to the Indus Waters Treaty and urges international legal action against India’s RSS-inspired Hindutva regime.

The report further states that the “Balance of Terror” model has remained effective in South Asia, as both Pakistan and India are nuclear powers. This balance has served as a strong deterrent against Indian aggression, thereby ensuring regional peace, security, and stability.

A timeline of events following the April 22 Pahalgam incident has been included in the report, alongside a range of international perspectives on Pakistan-India tensions.

Speaking at the launch, Senator Mushahid Hussain praised the professionalism and training of Pakistan Air Force (PAF) pilots, attributing Pakistan’s aerial edge to superior electronic warfare capabilities and cyber dominance. He asserted that three new strategic realities have emerged as a result of recent conflict, chief among them being Pakistan’s restoration of strategic balance and China’s growing role as an active stakeholder in the Kashmir dispute.

The report marks a pivotal moment in regional geopolitics, positioning Pakistan as a decisive player in shaping South Asia’s future trajectory.
