Pakistan has strongly condemned ongoing terrorism against the country with state backing from India, reaffirming its commitment to safeguarding national security. This was stated by Foreign Office Spokesperson Tahir Hussain Andrabi during the weekly media briefing in Islamabad.
Addressing India’s recent provocative and inflammatory remarks, Andrabi emphasized that propaganda cannot distort facts. He reiterated that the Pakistan Armed Forces remain resolutely committed to defending the country against all threats.
Highlighting Pakistan’s expanding diplomatic outreach, Andrabi noted the recent official visit of the President of Indonesia, who came to Pakistan at the invitation of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. During the visit, high-level delegation talks were held, and the Prime Minister briefed the Indonesian President on the situation in Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir. Several agreements and memoranda of understanding were signed, marking a significant strengthening of bilateral ties.
Andrabi further reported that the Deputy Prime Minister of Pakistan engaged in diplomatic communications this week with key regional counterparts. He held discussions with Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araqchi and spoke via telephone with Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan. These talks focused extensively on the ongoing situation in Gaza and regional stability. In response to Israel’s statements regarding the reopening of the Rafah crossing, Pakistan, along with eight other Islamic Arab countries, issued a joint statement expressing their position.
The Foreign Office spokesperson emphasized that Pakistan remains steadfast in addressing regional security challenges through diplomacy and cooperation with the international community, while also maintaining vigilance against threats to its sovereignty and citizens.
