Pakistan Condemns Indian Aggression, Urges International Community to Intervene: Information Minister

Federal Minister for Information Attaullah Tarar has strongly condemned India’s unprovoked aggression, stating that although Pakistan had anticipated possible hostilities following the Pahalgam drama, India’s targeting of civilian populations is deeply regrettable and unacceptable.

Speaking to international media outlets, Minister Tarar confirmed that India carried out strikes on five locations within Pakistan, resulting in the tragic loss of civilian lives, including women and children. “We are currently assessing the full extent of the damage, but the deliberate targeting of civilian populations by India is a blatant violation of international norms,” he said.

Tarar stressed that Pakistan has never initiated aggression but firmly retains the right to respond in self-defence. “Pakistan has always exercised restraint, but any violation of our sovereignty will be met with a befitting response,” he added.

The minister categorically denied India’s allegations regarding Pakistani involvement in the Pahalgam incident, stating that the area lies 200 kilometers from the Line of Control and that India possesses no evidence to support its claims. He noted that both local and international journalists were taken to the alleged locations India accused of hosting terrorist camps. “These allegations are baseless and reflect the failure of Indian security forces in preventing the Pahalgam incident,” he said.

Reiterating Pakistan’s sacrifices in the global fight against terrorism, Tarar reminded the world that Pakistan remains a frontline state, having lost over 90,000 lives in this war. “We are actively fighting terrorism in our western regions and along our borders. While we have always upheld peace, India continues to evade responsibility and engage in state-sponsored terrorism,” he asserted.

Tarar highlighted that India has yet to condemn the tragic Jaffar Express incident and is itself involved in orchestrating terror activities abroad. “There is mounting evidence of India’s involvement in acts of terrorism, including the assassination of Sikh activists in the United States, Canada, and Australia. Moreover, the arrest of Indian naval officer Kulbhushan Jadhav, who was directly involved in terrorism on Pakistani soil, stands as irrefutable proof of India’s malign intentions,” he added.

He further informed that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has launched a diplomatic initiative, meeting with ambassadors of several countries to apprise them of the situation. “Pakistan has offered transparent and impartial investigations into the Pahalgam incident and has convened a meeting of the National Security Committee to deliberate on the evolving security environment,” Tarar concluded.

The minister called on the international community to take notice of India’s aggression and ensure peace and stability in the region by holding New Delhi accountable for its actions.
