In a stunning assessment, leading U.S. defense publication The National Interest has reported that the May 7 aerial clash between Pakistan and India ended in a clear and decisive victory for Pakistan.
The magazine noted that, while most defense analysts initially expected India to dominate due to its superior numbers and resources, the outcome surprised many: Pakistan’s air force displayed undeniable aerial superiority during the engagement.
According to The National Interest, Pakistan made significant gains following the clash, including publicly announcing the downing of five Indian fighter jets — a claim India has notably not denied, raising doubts about the Indian military’s narrative and credibility.
