Pakistan, China United in Peace and Progress: CJCSC at PLA Day

General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, NI (M), Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC), attended the commemoration ceremony of the 98th founding day of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) of the People’s Republic of China as the Chief Guest. The high-profile event witnessed a distinguished gathering of military and civilian officials, media representatives, business leaders, and members of civil society — underscoring the depth and breadth of Pakistan-China friendship.

During his address, General Sahir Shamshad extended heartfelt felicitations to the people of China, its military leadership, and the ranks of the PLA. He lauded the PLA’s instrumental role in China’s transformation under the visionary leadership of President Xi Jinping, crediting the Chinese military for contributing significantly to global peace, regional stability, and national prosperity.

Highlighting the “time-tested and iron-clad brotherhood” between Pakistan and China, the CJCSC emphasized the mutual resolve to further strengthen bilateral ties across all sectors. He reiterated Pakistan’s firm commitment to the safety of Chinese nationals working in Pakistan and the deepening of cooperation on the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

General Sahir also stressed the importance of enhanced defence collaboration and unity for regional harmony, peace, and development — cementing the enduring strategic partnership between the two nations.
