Pakistan, Azerbaijan Vow to Strengthen Defence and Air Force Cooperation

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Deputy Prime Minister and Director General of Defence of Azerbaijan, Aghil Gurbanov, along with his delegation, held a meeting with Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmad Babar Sidhu, to discuss matters of mutual interest and defence cooperation.

The ISPR stated that the meeting featured wide-ranging and result-oriented discussions covering defence collaboration, training, modernization, and technical expertise. The Air Chief extended a warm welcome to the Azerbaijani delegation and underscored the deep-rooted religious, cultural, and historical bonds that have long united the peoples of Pakistan and Azerbaijan.

During the interaction, Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmad Babar Sidhu briefed the delegation on the operational preparedness, strategic objectives, and future warfighting concepts of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF). He emphasized the PAF’s ongoing efforts to enhance combat readiness through innovation, training, and the adoption of advanced technologies in line with evolving regional and global security challenges.

The Air Chief also reiterated Pakistan’s firm commitment to strengthening bilateral defence ties, particularly in the domains of air power, operational training, and capacity building. He assured the Azerbaijani side of Pakistan’s continued support in augmenting the operational training and capabilities of the Azerbaijan Air Force.

The meeting concluded with a reaffirmation of mutual resolve to further broaden defence cooperation between Pakistan and Azerbaijan, reflecting the shared vision of both countries to ensure regional peace, stability, and security.
