Pakistan Army Repels Cross-Border Infiltration, Eliminates 25 Indian-Sponsored Militants: ISPR

Pakistan’s security forces thwarted two major infiltration attempts by Indian-sponsored militants along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border on October 24 and 25, eliminating twenty-five terrorists in the Ghaki area of Kurram District and Spinwam, North Waziristan. The failed infiltration, carried out by the so-called Fitna al-Khwarij group, occurred as delegations from Pakistan and Afghanistan continue talks in Türkiye   raising serious concerns over the Afghan interim government’s commitment to curbing cross-border terrorism.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), vigilant surveillance detected movements of two large terrorist groups attempting to breach Pakistani territory. Swift and precise action by Pakistan Army troops led to the neutralization of fifteen terrorists, including four suicide bombers, in Spinwam and ten more in Ghaki. A cache of weapons, ammunition, and explosives was recovered from the slain infiltrators.

During the fierce exchange of fire, five valiant soldiers laid down their lives in the line of duty. The martyrs include Havildar Manzoor Hussain (35, Ghizar), Sepoy Nauman Ilyas Kiyani (23, Poonch), Sepoy Muhammad Adil (24, Kasur), Sepoy Shah Jehan (25, Vehari), and Sepoy Ali Asghar (25, Pakpattan). The ISPR paid rich tribute to their gallantry, noting that their ultimate sacrifice has further strengthened the nation’s resolve to eradicate terrorism.

The statement underscored that these infiltration attempts coincide with ongoing diplomatic engagements, thereby “casting doubts on the intentions of the Interim Afghan Government” regarding its obligations under the Doha Agreement. Pakistan, the ISPR reiterated, has consistently called upon Kabul to ensure effective border management and prevent the use of Afghan soil for attacks against Pakistan.

A comprehensive sanitization operation is underway in the affected regions to clear any remaining terrorists. The ISPR reaffirmed that under the ongoing Azm-e-Istehkam counterterrorism drive — approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan — security forces and law enforcement agencies will continue their operations with full determination until every foreign-sponsored element threatening Pakistan’s peace is eliminated.
