Pakistani security forces dealt a decisive and crushing blow to Afghan Taliban and the India-backed Fitna-e-Khawarij elements after they launched unprovoked firing across the border in Kurram district, resulting in the destruction of multiple enemy posts and tank positions. According to security sources, the Pakistan Army’s swift and precise retaliation left at least two Taliban posts and a tank position completely destroyed, with visible fires raging across their installations.
The hostile attack, carried out jointly by Afghan Taliban and Fitna-e-Khawarij, was met with an immediate and intense response from Pakistani forces, who engaged enemy targets with exceptional accuracy. Several Taliban fighters were reportedly killed in the exchange, with many abandoning their positions and leaving behind the bodies of their fallen comrades as they fled.
Sources confirmed that the Pakistan Army’s retaliatory strikes were conducted with high professionalism and technical precision, ensuring no collateral damage to civilian areas. The destroyed Taliban tank, captured on footage, stands as clear evidence of the effectiveness of Pakistan’s defensive operations. Within an hour, the Army successfully neutralized the militants’ fourth tank position—known as the Shamshad Post further dismantling their operational capacity in the sector.
Security officials reported that the Taliban and Fitna-e-Khawarij operatives have fallen into disarray, abandoning several positions in panic. Intelligence suggests that an important Khawarij commander was among those killed in the strike.
The latest escalation follows the October 11–12 cross-border assault, when Afghan Taliban and India-sponsored Khawarij groups launched an unprovoked attack along the Pak-Afghan frontier. In that engagement, Pakistan’s Armed Forces responded with overwhelming force, eliminating over 200 Taliban and militant fighters, though 23 Pakistani soldiers embraced martyrdom and 29 sustained injuries in the defence of the homeland.
Pakistan has repeatedly urged the Kabul authorities to prevent the use of Afghan soil for terrorism against its neighbours. Despite these calls, the Taliban regime has continued to deny responsibility, even as cross-border aggression intensifies.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, addressing the cabinet earlier this month, paid tribute to the martyrs and declared that the time for decisive action has come. “These traitorous Khawarij, who enter from Afghanistan to attack the very country that once sheltered them, have drawn a line with the blood of our heroes. The state will now act firmly and conclusively,” he said.
The Pakistan Army reaffirmed its commitment to defend the nation’s borders at all costs, vowing that any act of aggression would be met with a resolute, swift, and proportionate response to ensure peace and stability in the region.
