Pakistani security sources have alleged that Indian intelligence agencies are preparing a major “false-flag” operation in Kashmir aimed at implicating Pakistan by blaming the Haqqani Network.
Credible sources, speaking to several international media outlets on Monday, 25 August, claimed the plan involves using Taliban fighters and tribal Pashtuns to create the impression of Haqqani involvement. They further alleged that the operation is being coordinated with assistance from the intelligence services of an unidentified “third country.”
India has consistently accused the Haqqani Network of ties to Pakistan. The group, composed largely of Pashtuns, has long been associated with Islamabad through political and familial links. Its founder, Jalaluddin Haqqani, operated from Pakistan under Mohammad Yunus Khalis’s Hizb-e-Islami during the Soviet-Afghan war.
According to the Pakistani sources, select Indian media outlets have already begun circulating narratives to support what they described as a pre-arranged campaign. Diplomatic observers warn such moves could heighten tensions between the two nuclear-armed states.
Pakistan has frequently accused New Delhi of staging false-flag attacks to divert attention from domestic problems and discredit Islamabad internationally.
