Following the recent ceasefire, the Director Generals of Military Operations (DGMOs) of Pakistan and India re-established communication through a hotline, signalling a step forward in efforts to de-escalate regional tensions.
According to Indian media reports, Pakistan’s DGMO Major General Kashif Abdullah and his Indian counterpart, Lieutenant General Rajeev Ghai, engaged in direct talks aimed at maintaining the fragile truce and discussing key operational matters. This marks the second hotline contact between the two military officials in recent days.

The previous communication took place on the afternoon of May 10, during which both sides agreed to an immediate ceasefire and committed to halting all forms of military action—whether by land, air, or sea.
This renewed military dialogue comes in the wake of a ceasefire announcement facilitated by U.S. President Donald Trump. Both Pakistan and India have since expressed a willingness to engage in negotiations under third-party mediation to resolve outstanding disputes, including the long-standing Kashmir issue.
