Over 130 Drone Attacks Thwarted, 14 High-Value Terrorists Neutralized in Bannu Region Anti-Terror Operations

In a series of meticulously planned operations across the Bannu region, security forces have successfully foiled all attempted terrorist attacks, ensuring the safety of the public and critical infrastructure, according to a detailed report released today.

The report highlights that militants made repeated attempts to target police stations and checkposts, including more than 130 drone attacks, all of which were effectively neutralized by modern security measures. During these operations, 14 high-priority militants were killed, while 22 others were injured, reflecting the precision and effectiveness of the counterterrorism efforts.

Regional Police Officer Sajad Khan supervised the operations, emphasizing the importance of modernized resources and local support in countering terrorism. “Certain areas in Bannu have been used as hideouts by militants,” Khan noted, adding that insurgents had previously attempted multiple attacks on police stations and checkposts.

The report states that the Inspector General of Police, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, provided the Bannu region with comprehensive resources, including state-of-the-art weaponry, bulletproof gates, and double-wall systems at police installations, enabling security forces to neutralize large-scale attacks before they could materialize.

Khan praised the cooperation of the local population, highlighting that community support played a crucial role in the success of these operations. “Thanks to modern surveillance and defensive systems, even drone-assisted attacks by terrorists were effectively stopped,” he said.

The report underscores the professionalism, readiness, and resilience of the Bannu police force in combating terrorism, demonstrating their capability to respond to evolving threats with precision and determination.
