Reliable sources have revealed that six armed members of the proscribed Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), affiliated with the Maulana Nazirullah-led group, abducted a local peace advocate, Akhtar Jan, son of Gul Raees Khan, from his residence in Khora, Tehsil Takht-e-Nasrati, District Karak.
The Khwarij reportedly took him towards the Chopri and Koh-i-Maidan areas. Akhtar Jan was widely known in the region for his efforts to promote peace and stability, and his abduction has sparked serious concern and anger among the local population.
In a swift response, the people of Khora have begun mobilising to trace the abductors and recover Akhtar Jan. Sources indicate that a collective community effort is underway to confront the perpetrators and ensure the safe return of the abductee.
Local elders have strongly condemned the act, urging the security forces to take immediate and decisive action against the Khwarij elements threatening the peace of the area. The incident has once again highlighted the persistent threat posed by remnants of the outlawed TTP and the need for robust community and state collaboration to root out extremism.
