Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Information, Attaullah Tarar, has announced significant battlefield developments under the ongoing military campaign titled Operation Ghazab Lil Haq, stating that Pakistani forces have inflicted substantial losses on Afghan Taliban positions as part of a sustained and “effective retaliatory response.”
In a statement posted on X at 1730 hours on 1 March 2026, the minister reported that, according to official assessments, 415 Afghan Taliban fighters have been killed and 580 wounded since the commencement of the operation. The figures have not been independently verified.
The statement further asserted that 182 Afghan Taliban check posts have been completely destroyed, while Pakistani forces have taken control of an additional 31 posts during the course of ground operations. Officials described these developments as a major shift in tactical control across contested sectors.
According to the figures released, heavy material losses were also inflicted. The minister stated that 115 tanks, armored vehicles, and artillery guns belonging to Afghan Taliban forces have been destroyed. No independent confirmation of the equipment losses has been provided at this stage.

The statement indicated that 46 locations inside Afghanistan were targeted in what were described as “effective and precise” airstrikes.
