A blast in Kabul’s Shahr-e-Naw area has left several people dead and injured, according to initial reports.
A spokesperson for Afghanistan’s Taliban-led Ministry of Interior, quoted by a foreign news agency, confirmed casualties in the incident, saying the exact number of those killed and wounded would be released later.
Interior Ministry spokesperson Abdul Mateen Qani said investigations into the explosion are under way and further details will be shared in due course.
According to the foreign news agency, Shahr-e-Naw is known for housing foreign residents and is considered one of the more secure areas of the Afghan capital.
