Security forces eliminated two; including a senior Khariji commander of Fitna al-Khawarij or the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), in Shahbaz Top during an operation that averted a planned attack on sensitive national infrastructure in Mir Ali, North waziristan.
The slain commander, Zainullah alias “Lambay”, was linked to the TTP’s Haider faction and was reportedly orchestrating an assault with his associate, Abu Saeed. Officials confirmed that critical installations were the intended targets, but the timely intervention by security forces prevented any damage.
Recovered from the site were smartphones and cash, now being analysed for intelligence. Authorities praised the forces for their swift action, noting the attempted sabotage was part of a broader pattern of militant resurgence in the region.
