North Waziristan Elders Join Fight Against Terrorism, Pledge Full Support to Pakistan Army

NORTH WAZIRISTAN – Following the lead of communities in South Waziristan, Dera Ismail Khan, Tank, Dera Ghazi Khan, and Kurram, the people of North Waziristan have now also declared full support for the Pakistan Army in the ongoing fight against terrorism.

In a significant jirga (tribal council) held in Datta Khel tehsil, local unit commanders met with tribal elders from the villages of Dand Kali and Tang Kali. The jirga resolved to collaborate closely for the development and prosperity of the region, and to take joint action against anti-state elements.

During the meeting, elders emphasised the need for mutual cooperation to maintain peace and stability, and discussed practical proposals to strengthen law and order in the area.

This follows a similar meeting held a day earlier in Arawali, Kurram, where the local commanding officer met with the Sadda Committee elders to discuss the ongoing deweaponization campaign and overall security situation. The session focused on the presence of terrorist elements, their negative impacts, and the importance of coordinated strategies with security forces to achieve long-term peace.

Tribal elders in both regions reaffirmed their commitment to work hand-in-hand with security agencies and pledged to take all necessary steps for the establishment of sustainable peace.
