RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), delivered a powerful message during his interaction with participants of the 15th National Workshop Balochistan at GHQ today, reaffirming Pakistan’s ironclad resolve against terrorism and its unwavering commitment to Balochistan’s development.
Addressing a diverse gathering of parliamentarians, bureaucrats, civil society members, youth, academics, and media representatives—most hailing from Balochistan—General Munir underscored that the province stands at the heart of Pakistan’s future, and efforts to mislead the people through disinformation will fail against the tide of progress.
“The scale and scope of ongoing and upcoming development projects in Balochistan are unprecedented and already delivering results for the people,” the Army Chief said, while appreciating civil society’s efforts in raising awareness and empowering youth as vital agents of change.
In a stern warning to anti-state elements, the COAS said, “Foreign-sponsored terrorism is the gravest threat to Balochistan’s peace and prosperity. The nefarious designs of those who incite violence and seek to destabilize the region will be crushed.”
Calling out terrorist groups masquerading under the guise of Baloch nationalism, General Munir declared them “a blemish on Baloch honour and patriotism,” and stressed that such malign actors serve only external agendas, not the people of Balochistan.
“Pakistan seeks peace within and beyond, but any violation of our sovereignty will be met with full force,” he asserted, reaffirming that the armed forces, supported by the people, will continue to wage an unrelenting fight against terrorism.
The workshop concluded with an open Q&A session, marking another step in fostering unity, understanding, and national integration through dialogue and inclusive engagement.
