At least nine gas pipelines were damaged in multiple explosions at different locations in Sui tehsil of Dera Bugti district, Balochistan, according to initial reports.
The reported targets included locations in Sheikh Colony, near Sukhri Check Post, the Gate of Field No. 6, Gas Well No. 82, the old Civil Hospital, two sites in Adil Khan Colony, Bugti House, the area between Jawan Saal School and Gas Well No. 53, and near Jhukrani Khed.
The incidents affected gas pipeline infrastructure at several points across the area. Details about the extent of the damage, possible disruption to gas supplies, casualties and the time required for repairs were not immediately available.
The banned Baloch Republican Army (BRA) claimed responsibility for the incidents. The claim had not been independently verified, and further details about the circumstances of the explosions were awaited.
The attacks highlight the vulnerability of energy infrastructure in Balochistan, where gas facilities and pipelines have previously been targeted by separatist terrorist groups. Damage to such infrastructure can disrupt supplies, affect local services and impose additional repair and security costs.
