New Evidence Points to Terrorist Operations Within Mosques

Fresh and deeply troubling revelations have emerged exposing the systematic misuse of mosques for terrorist activities, highlighting a dangerous pattern in which extremist groups deliberately exploit sacred religious spaces for militant purposes.

According to security sources, a video dated 10 January 2026 shows Khaizullah Waziristani, a commander affiliated with the Kharji Gul Bahadur Group, operating a drone from inside a mosque. The footage clearly depicts the individual flying the drone within the mosque premises, an act authorities describe as a blatant abuse of a place of worship.

Officials confirm that this is not an isolated incident. An earlier video from 31 August 2025 surfaced showing the same terrorist elements attempting to operate a drone while seated near the mihrab and pulpit, areas traditionally reserved for prayer leadership and religious guidance. The repeated nature of these acts indicates a deliberate and calculated strategy rather than an accidental or one-off occurrence.

Security officials have strongly condemned these actions, stating that they constitute a grave violation of the sanctity of mosques and religious seminaries. Authorities emphasized that such behavior not only desecrates sacred spaces but also endangers worshippers and undermines the moral and religious foundations of society.

Experts warn that the use of mosques for reconnaissance and drone operations reflects an evolving terrorist methodology aimed at avoiding detection, manipulating religious sensitivities, and leveraging protected spaces for operational advantage.

Security agencies have reiterated their commitment to safeguarding religious institutions and preventing their exploitation by terrorist networks. Investigations are ongoing to identify additional locations and individuals involved, while enhanced monitoring and protective measures are being implemented to ensure the sanctity, safety, and neutrality of places of worship.

Authorities have also appealed to religious leaders and communities to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity, stressing that mosques must remain centers of peace, worship, and unity not tools of terror.
