Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Atta Tarar and Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry held an in-camera session with political leaders to discuss critical national security matters in light of the prevailing regional situation.
According to official sources, the high-level briefing was convened against the backdrop of the recent Pahalgam false flag operation, prompting a significant turnout of political leaders from various parties. During the session, DG ISPR briefed attendees on the preparedness and operational readiness of the Pakistan Armed Forces.
Sources stated that while Pakistan is a peace-loving nation and seeks stability in the region, any act of aggression will be met with a resolute and forceful response from the armed forces.
In addition, Minister Atta Tarar apprised political leaders of the government’s ongoing diplomatic efforts and reaffirmed the state’s official stance on the evolving security landscape.
Notable participants in the session included former Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Sardar Attique Ahmed Khan, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam’s Noor Alam Khan, Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry, and Minister of State for Sports Das Kohistani. However, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) boycotted the background briefing, distancing itself from the government-led initiative.
