Most Wanted Khawarij Militant Arrested in High-Stakes CTD Operation in Sahiwal

In a significant breakthrough against the Khawarij network, the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) apprehended a highly dangerous militant during an intelligence-based operation near the PASCO Office along the Lower Bari Doab Canal in Sahiwal.

According to a CTD spokesperson, the arrested militant has been identified as Amir Hamza, a resident of Basti Shado Khan in District Layyah. The suspect was found in possession of a substantial cache of explosives and weapons, including detonators, prima cord, an electric circuit, a battery, and firearms. The Bomb Disposal Squad was swiftly deployed and successfully rendered the explosive materials safe.

Initial investigations reveal that the militant was actively planning a series of attacks at various locations in the city to incite fear and destabilize public security. The timely arrest has averted what could have been a major terrorist incident.

A formal case has been registered, and further interrogation is underway to identify the militant’s facilitators and broader network.

The CTD reaffirmed its unflinching commitment to dismantling the infrastructure of the Khawarij and ensuring the safety of citizens through proactive and intelligence-driven counter-terror operations.
