District Khyber witnessed yet another act of terrorist violence as a mortar shell, fired from an unidentified direction, struck a residential house, leaving three civilians seriously injured, including a woman.

According to security sources, the mortar landed at the residence of a local resident, injuring him, his wife, and his nephew. The injured were immediately shifted to a nearby medical facility for initial treatment and later referred to a major hospital in Peshawar due to the severity of their injuries.

The incident triggered panic in the area, with residents expressing deep concern over the targeting of civilian populations. Locals have called on security officials to intensify protective measures and ensure those responsible are brought to justice.

Security officials maintain that such cowardly attacks reflect the desperation of terrorist elements, particularly Fitna al-Khwarij, who, under pressure from ongoing successful operations by Pakistan’s security forces, are increasingly resorting to targeting unarmed civilians and residential areas in an attempt to spread fear and undermine stability.

Despite these attempts, security forces continue their operations with resolve, reaffirming their commitment to eliminating terrorism and safeguarding the lives and property of citizens.
