President of the Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Democratic Party (JKPDP), Mehbooba Mufti, has strongly condemned the Modi government for what she termed as a systematic campaign of oppression against Kashmiri Muslims in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) following the recent false flag attack in Pahalgam.
In a hard-hitting statement, Mufti said that innocent Kashmiris are being labelled as terrorists and subjected to brutal state violence in the aftermath of the staged attack. “Two days ago, a young man named Imtiyaz Magray was abducted in Kulgam, and now his dead body has been recovered from a river. The Indian security agencies are directly responsible,” she stated.
She further revealed that similar incidents have occurred in Bandipora, Kulgam, and other districts, where Indian forces have raided homes, arbitrarily arrested civilians, and carried out extrajudicial killings.
Calling for an impartial and transparent investigation into the Pahalgam incident, Mufti asserted that the attack was a deliberate ploy by the Modi administration to justify its repressive policies in Kashmir and divert international attention from the real issues on the ground.
“The people of Kashmir have long been victims of state-engineered violence,” she added, stressing the urgent need for global human rights organisations to take notice.
Defence analysts also echoed her concerns, terming the Pahalgam incident a dangerous conspiracy by the Indian government aimed at targeting innocent Muslims and committing gross human rights violations under the guise of national security.
