Following the prestigious Field Marshal Baton Conferment Ceremony at Aiwan-e-Sadr, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir extended heartfelt appreciation to senior journalists, calling the media “a pillar of strength” and “our pride.”
“The media is our pride, you told the world that we only speak the truth,” Field Marshal Asim Munir said while interacting with senior journalists after receiving the honour.
In a brief but warm exchange, Pakistan’s first serving Field Marshal commended the press for its critical role during recent national challenges, stating: “You fought this war alongside us. The media stood shoulder-to-shoulder with the state.”

The ceremony, attended by President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and top civil-military leadership, marked a historic moment in Pakistan’s military tradition.
