Man Arrested In AJK For Spying For Indian Intelligence Agency RAW

Police in Azad Jammu and Kashmir have arrested a man accused of spying for India’s intelligence agency, the Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), by allegedly providing sensitive GPS locations in exchange for money. Officials said the suspect, a resident of Rawalakot, was taken into custody and booked under the Official Secrets Act at the City Police Station in Muzaffarabad. According to the First Information Report (FIR), the accused was engaged in espionage activities, supplying classified information to RAW for financial reward.

Police sources described the arrest as a significant development in ongoing efforts to counter hostile intelligence networks attempting to penetrate the region. “The suspect’s activities posed a direct threat to national security,” one official remarked, adding that further investigations were underway to determine the full extent of his connections.

The case has drawn renewed attention to India’s intelligence operations in Azad Jammu and Kashmir. Authorities have repeatedly accused RAW of sponsoring subversive activities aimed at destabilising the region and targeting sensitive locations.

It may be recalled that on the night of May 6, India fired a missile at the Bilal Mosque in Muzaffarabad, causing extensive damage to the place of worship. Officials linked that incident to India’s ongoing aggression in violation of international norms and territorial sovereignty. Law enforcement agencies said the suspect’s interrogation is expected to provide vital leads into broader espionage attempts, while further arrests have not been ruled out.
