In a significant counter-terrorism breakthrough, the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, in collaboration with intelligence agencies and local police, has arrested four terrorists affiliated with the banned group Daesh-Khorasan during a targeted intelligence-based operation in the Karak district.
According to sources, the joint operation was launched by CTD Peshawar, intelligence services, and Karak police based on actionable intelligence. The operation targeted multiple hideouts across Karak, resulting in the capture of Farhadullah, Muhammad Rahim, Noor Daraz, and Abdul Qayyum, three of whom are residents of Karak, while one hails from Bajaur.
During the raids, security forces also seized a large cache of weapons and explosives, which were recovered from the suspects’ possession. The arrested militants have been moved to an undisclosed location for interrogation and further investigation.
Officials revealed that this operation was made possible through intelligence gathered from previous arrests of Daesh-Khorasan operatives in the province. The latest arrests are part of an ongoing crackdown on extremist elements seeking to destabilise the region.
Authorities affirmed their unwavering commitment to eliminating terrorism, stating that similar operations will continue to dismantle terror networks and maintain peace in the region.
