In a significant counterterrorism success, Sindh’s Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) and Pakistan Rangers, in a joint intelligence-based operation, arrested three key operatives of the outlawed Haji Gul Bahadur (HGB) of the Tehreek-e-Taliban (TTP) faction in the Korangi area of Karachi.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Anamullah alias Lala, Naeemullah alias Umar Zareen, and Muhammad Tayyab Khan.
According to initial investigations, the suspects confessed to their active involvement with the HGB group and admitted to carrying out multiple terrorist activities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Authorities revealed that the trio had recently relocated to Karachi with plans to expand the group’s terror network and operations in the city.
The operation marks one of the most significant counterterrorism achievements in Karachi in recent years.
