In a bold display of unity and resistance, locals from the Mashwani tribe, including residents from Kharagat, Kotun, Shaltalu, and Soni Dara, joined forces with security forces to repel a terrorist attack on a checkpost in the jurisdiction of the Shahi Kot Police Station, Soni Dara of Upper Dir’s Barawal area.

The armed assailants launched a direct attack on the checkpost, but the brave locals fought alongside the security forces, successfully pushing the terrorists back and clearing the area of any militants.

This was not the first attack on security forces in the region. Just yesterday, a similar assault took place in the same area, where terrorists attacked a security post in Shahi Kot area of Soni Dara, Barawal, Upper Dir. The attack resulted in the martyrdom of six soldiers and left four others injured.

The repeated assaults highlight the ongoing security challenges in the area. However, the resilience of both the local community and security forces in the face of such adversity remains unwavering, with both groups committed to securing the region from terrorism.
