In a significant counter-terrorism success, security forces launched a major intelligence-based operation in the Wanda Khana Gul area of Lakki Marwat, eliminating more than eight militants affiliated with the banned Khawarij group and destroying five of their hideouts.
The operation, conducted on the basis of precise intelligence, involved a fierce exchange of fire between security personnel and khawarij. The hideouts were completely destroyed, and several high-value targets are believed to be among the dead, sources confirmed.
“The operation was based on timely intelligence and executed with a coordinated strategy,” a security source said. “The area was fully cordoned off, leaving no room for the terrorists to escape.”

Security forces have now tightened control in the area, and identification and background checks on the neutralized khawarij are underway. Authorities believe this operation will significantly disrupt militant networks operating in the region.
Residents have been urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to law enforcement agencies as the clean-up operation continues.
This marks one of the most successful offensives in recent months in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where security forces remain engaged in efforts to dismantle khawarij infrastructure and restore lasting peace in the region.
