In a historic initiative to strengthen peace, stability, and religious harmony, the first-ever Scholars’ Convention was held in Lakki Marwat, organized in collaboration with the Pakistan Army and the district administration. The event brought together a large number of respected religious scholars and community leaders from diverse schools of thought, reflecting a shared commitment to building a peaceful and harmonious society.
The convention was attended by key civil and military officials, including GOC 40 Division Major General Mudassir Saeed, Deputy Commissioner Lakki Marwat Hamidullah Khan, and District Police Officer Nazir Ahmad Khan, among other dignitaries. During the gathering, the scholars underscored the importance of peace as the foundation of a conscious and responsible society, pledging their full support and cooperation with civil authorities to ensure long-term stability in the region.
Addressing the participants, Major General Mudassir Saeed highlighted the indispensable role of religious scholars in fostering social cohesion and national solidarity. He emphasized that through the promotion of tolerance, unity, and mutual respect, scholars play a crucial role in establishing sustainable peace. He further noted that maintaining security and harmony in the region requires a joint and continuous effort by all institutions and societal segments.
The GOC urged scholars to take a proactive role in eradicating extremism and terrorism from society, stressing the importance of spreading authentic religious teachings, ensuring proper regulation of educational institutions, encouraging mosques to contribute positively to community development, and promoting religious harmony across the region.
The convention concluded with all participants offering prayers for lasting peace in the country, with special attention to Lakki Marwat, and reaffirming their commitment to continue active efforts toward social stability, communal harmony, and a secure environment for all citizens.
