Peshawar authorities have strengthened security measures in the city’s Red Zone following the recent attack on the Federal Constabulary Headquarters. A high‑level security meeting was chaired by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Inspector General of Police Zulfiqar Hameed, with Additional IGPs, the CCPo, and DIsG in attendance.

During the session, officials conducted a comprehensive review of Red Zone security and adjoining buildings. The Central Police Office stated that monitoring of all entry and exit points will be intensified, while vehicle checking procedures will be made more effective to prevent any threats.

The IG directed a full security audit of sensitive locations and instructed the deployment of walk‑through gates, sniffer dogs, and specialised personnel throughout the Red Zone. These steps aim to ensure tighter control and rapid response capabilities in the heart of the provincial capital.

Officials emphasised that the measures are part of ongoing efforts to safeguard critical installations and prevent any recurrence of attacks targeting law enforcement agencies.
