KP Police Deploy Cutting-Edge Anti-Drone Technology to Counter Emerging Terror Threats

In a decisive move to combat the growing use of drones in terrorist activities, particularly in southern districts, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police have inducted state-of-the-art anti-drone jamming technology into their security arsenal.

The breakthrough system capable of neutralizing drones within a three-kilometre radius was deployed for the first time during the Ashura procession in Peshawar, marking a significant upgrade in the province’s counterterrorism strategy.

“This technology allows real-time detection and disabling of aerial threats, ensuring tighter security around mass gatherings,” said SSP Operations Masood Bangash. “It can track drones mid-flight and jam their signals, effectively rendering them inoperable.”

Police officials confirmed that the system enables swift interception of suspicious drones, strengthening protection at sensitive venues, including religious processions and public rallies.

The move comes in response to confirmed instances where drones were used in terror plots across southern KP—prompting urgent technological adaptation. Officials described the induction of the anti-drone system as a vital component of a broader, modernized security doctrine to preempt and disrupt airborne threats.

As the risk of drone-enabled terrorism rises, the KP Police’s proactive adoption of advanced countermeasures signals a shift in Pakistan’s internal security landscape—one that is sharper, smarter, and fully prepared to neutralize threats from above.
