KP Govt to Host All Parties Conference on July 24 to Forge United Front Against Resurgent Terrorism

In a decisive move to confront the deteriorating security situation, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has summoned an All Parties Conference (APC) on July 24, aimed at building a unified political front to counter the growing threat of terrorism. Chief Minister Sardar Ali Amin Gandapur has issued formal invitations to all political parties and religious scholars representing various schools of thought, underscoring the urgent need for a collective and coordinated response. The APC will be held in Peshawar and is expected to serve as a critical forum for dialogue, consensus-building, and the formulation of a province-wide security strategy.

“The resurgence of terrorism is a matter of grave concern for every citizen of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. No single party or institution can overcome this threat in isolation,” the chief minister said in a statement issued on Tuesday. “Restoring peace is a shared duty. We must rise above political divides and unite for the future of our people.”

Gandapur emphasised that the primary objective of the APC is to bring all political forces to the table and devise a robust and actionable roadmap to combat militancy. He warned that failure to act with unity and urgency could jeopardise hard-won gains in the war against terrorism.

“This is a defining moment. Our strength lies in our unity, and our silence would be complicity. We will not allow terror to dictate the destiny of our province,” he added. The APC comes at a time when incidents of targeted violence and militancy have seen a worrying uptick in parts of the province, raising alarm among citizens and state institutions alike. The KP government has reiterated its commitment to eliminating terrorism in all its forms and has called on all segments of society to contribute to this national cause.

The outcome of the July 24 conference is expected to set the tone for a multi-party consensus on security, marking a significant step towards reestablishing peace and stability in the region.
